France eyes investment opportunities

Tarar emphasised Pakistan’s enduring democratic stability and promising future

ISLAMABAD:

Caretaker Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar engaged in a meeting with French Ambassador Nicolas Galey on Monday, where they deliberated on matters of mutual interest, with a primary focus on investment prospects within Pakistan’s critical sectors like railways, motorways, and shipping.

Tarar emphasised Pakistan’s enduring democratic stability and promising future. Ambassador Galey, in turn, expressed confidence in the Pakistani market and pledged to encourage greater French investment.

Tarar noted that Pakistan has maintained democratic stability since 2008 and has a bright future ahead. Several specific investment opportunities were reviewed during the meeting, including the establishment of a new railway line from Kohat to Kharlachi for connectivity with Afghanistan, the development of the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway M-6, and the expansion of the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.
