December deadline set for Gujranwala link road

CM issued directions to FWO officials for early completion of the road

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has given a deadline to open the Gujranwala motorway link road by December 25 after speeding up the construction work.

While inspecting the under construction dual road to link Gujranwala with the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, he issued directions to FWO officials for early completion of the road.

He was informed during a briefing about the Rs7.887 billion project that 57 per cent work on the construction of the 15.2km approach road and 80% earth work on the under construction road from Benazir Chowk up to Wahndo Interchange has been completed.

During a visit to the Akbar Chowk flyovers project in Lahore, the caretaker CM said the flyovers would be opened for traffic by mid-November.

The caretaker CM also called for the completion by December 31 of the Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority Head Office building.

He issued directives to constitute a committee headed by the chairman of the Planning and Development Board to take prompt steps with regard to resolving affairs related to the authority.
