Crackdown intensifies against PTI leaders
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police suddenly intensified its crackdown against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders across the province as the homes of former provincial ministers Kamran Bangash and Anwar Zaib Khan were raided in Peshawar and Bajaur on Friday and both were arrested.
Similarly, the residences of former MPA Fazal Ilahi and Taimur Saleem Jhagra as well as PTI District President Arbab Sher Ali were also raided but they managed to escape.
The Chamkani police registered an FIR against Bangash, stating that he had sheltered former federal minister Murad Saeed due to which the police raided his home but his armed guards opened fire at them, injuring two policemen.

On Saturday, Kamran Bangash applied for bail. He requested the anti-terrorism court to grant him bail, saying the police had registered a baseless case against him.
Chamkani SHO was the complainant in the case and terrorism as well as attempt to murder sections of the PPC had been included in the FIR.
On Friday, former provincial minister Anwar Zaib was also arrested on the charges of taking out a rally to celebrate the release of former PTI MNA Gul Zafar Khan.
