‘SAFAR: Journey of the Mavericks’ captivates art lovers

Offers profound journey into creative expressions, distinct narratives

ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) hosted a grand celebration of art and creativity at the opening ceremony of a captivating new exhibition featuring the remarkable works of three distinguished artists.

'SAFAR: Journey of the Mavericks' - showcases the works of Masood A Khan, Ubaid Syed, and S Faraz Ali.

The exhibition, curated by the acclaimed Nageen Hyat in collaboration with Nomad Gallery, opened on Thursday, at the National Art Gallery.

This fantastic new exhibition offers a profound exploration of artistic expression, highlighting the powerful and unique narratives. Each artist, with their distinct style and perspective, contributes to this exhibition, creating a blend of creativity and thought-provoking art.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the artists themselves, alongside the curator, Nageen Hyat. Attendees included VIPs, art dignitaries, students, and art enthusiasts, who marveled at the exceptional artworks displayed.

Ubaid Syed, an artist of international acclaim, mesmerises viewers with his striking paintings inspired by Lapland. His artwork portrays vast landscapes, rich strokes, and brilliant colors, inviting viewers to interpret their own meanings. Syed's art reflects environmental and ecological changes, capturing the essence of the Deosai plains in Gilgit Baltistan.

Masood A Khan, a self-taught artist, brings his decades of experience to the exhibition. His work, recognised globally, delves into the simplicity and joy of spiritual content amidst the complexities of contemporary society.

Through a blend of realism and modernism, Khan's art serves as a mirror to the world, reflecting the true essence of our surroundings. S Faraz Ali, a master of fine arts, offers a unique perspective on reality and political scenarios. His artwork delves into the hidden truths and veiled issues of society. Ali's creations are an amalgamation of facts and fiction, exploring clichés as a reflection of our society's struggles with conformity and individuality.

In addition to the exceptional artworks this show offers an opportunity for art enthusiasts to engage with the artists and their creative processes. On Friday (today), from 10am till 12:30pm, the exhibition hosts three insightful artist talks, featuring all three artists.
