Child’s body found in drain
The lifeless body of a 5-year-old child was found in a dry drain located in an open area near Port Qasim, falling under the jurisdiction of the Sukhan Police Station. Law enforcement authorities promptly responded to the scene, secured the child’s body, and requested the crime scene unit to collect evidence from the area.
Zubair Nawaz, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sukhan Police Station, reported that the deceased child was clad in a red shirt and blue knicker. A noticeable black mark on the child’s back hinted at a possible fatal injury.
However, there were no immediate signs of sexual assault during the preliminary examination. SHO Nawaz speculated that the child might have been killed at another location, and the body was subsequently abandoned within the Sukhan police station’s jurisdiction.
The identity of the deceased child remains unknown at this time. To determine the cause of death, the child’s body is transferred to Jinnah Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The post-mortem examination results will shed light on this tragic incident’s circumstances.
