Emraan Hashmi 'dying' to speak about playing Pakistani agent in 'Tiger 3'
Bollywood star Salman Khan has yet again taken it upon himself to save India in the first trailer of Tiger 3. However, this time, he seems to have found a worthy opponent in Emraan Hashmi's Aatish.
Hashmi's casting, albeit an anticipated one, in the third film of the infamous Tiger franchise was previously kept under wraps for reasons unknown. The fans were elated to see the actor essaying a rather 'mature' character in Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, in which the former sports a beard with salt-pepper hair.
According to the Murder actor, he had been 'dying' to speak about his upcoming role as a Pakistani intelligence agent. Talking about his character, Hashmi, as per Hindustan Times, said in a statement, "I had an amazing time creating Aatish - a man who is fuelled by rage and will go to any length to finish Tiger."
He added, "I play a very distinctively different villain that is rare in Hindi cinema. He is cerebral, his mind is his greatest weapon and he also wields immense power over authorities across countries to bring his devious plans into motion.”
The Gangstar star added, “He single-mindedly wants to destroy Tiger, and his family and by doing that, he wants to take out the biggest super agent of India. He knows Tiger will always be the last man standing for India and he wants him removed at any cost.”
His character was a great surprise for the fans. Speaking about the same, Hashmi remarked, “I was dying to tell people about Tiger 3 but couldn’t, knowing very well that the payoff would be immense when my character is unveiled to the people. The decision was clear to bring the anti-hero to the spotlight with the trailer of Tiger 3 and I’m happy that people are loving my menacing turn.”
As per Pinkvilla, producer Aditya Chopra has left no stone unturned to make sure he does justice to Hashmi's Aatish in the film. Rumour has it that the Raaz 2 actor's introductory scene had cost Yash Raj Films over INR100 million.
“Salman Khan films often have some of the most heroic introductory sequences for the actor, and his entry scene of Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai is among the most iconic in the recent few years. The makers have carefully curated another heroic entry scene for Salman in Tiger 3," a source told the publication.
"The same is the case with Katrina's Zoya, who got an independent introductory scene in Tiger Zinda Hai. That’s not all, as this time around, even the antagonist will get a larger-than-life introduction. Maneesh, Adi and the stunt team have designed an action sequence costing over INR100 million for Emraan Hashmi’s introduction in Tiger 3,” the source remarked.
