Nine terror suspects arrested

LAHORE:

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab claimed to have foiled a terrorist attack by arresting nine terror suspects linked with banned outfits during operations across different areas of Punjab.

A spokesman for the CTD said 157 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted in different districts of the province to deal with any untoward incident of terrorism, in which nine terror supects were arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials.

The arrested terror suspects had planned acts of sabotage across the province and wanted to target important installations.

The police registered cases against the suspects and shifted them to an unknown location, the spokesman added.
