Man accused of drowning own children killed in police encounter
A man, who was accused of drowning his own children in a canal in Lahore a few days ago, met a fatal end during a police encounter on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old suspect, Azeem, had allegedly lured his four children to accompany him to the canal under the guise of a picnic. Tragically, he had pushed them into the canal, all while pretending to take a selfie.
He later misled the police and other relatives by saying that his children had been kidnapped by some unidentified suspects.
The children were identified as Ghulam Sabir (12), Samia (9), Nabiha (5), and Ayesha (2).

The bodies of three of the victims had been found while search continued for the fourth one.
According to In-charge Investigation Muhammad Asghar Bhatti, the police brought the suspect to the crime scene to help locate the fourth child's body. However, during the operation, two accomplices of Azeem opened fire on the police team.
During the exchange of gunfire, he said that Azeem was fatally shot by his own associates, who according to police, managed to escape from the scene.
The police have launched a manhunt to track down the escaped accomplices.
