Winter sets in after rainfall
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa witnessed the arrival of winter on Monday, following the first bout of rain.
As the colder weather settles in, the local flea markets have come alive -- offering affordable, cosy clothes for those looking to stay warm in the chilly temperatures.
However, shoppers have been surprised by the high prices of winter clothing, even in these flea markets. Despite the price hikes, people are still flocking to these markets in search of warmer garments.
Meanwhile, the recent rainfall has led to a flurry of activity in clothing stores, with customers eagerly buying warm clothes as the cold weather sets in. On the other hand, vendors selling cold drinks have been forced to close their shops.
The rainfall has also led to the decoration of dry fruit shops, while the combination of heavy rain in the plains and snowfall in the hilly regions has brought about the cold spell.
However, it is being noticed that this year, winter has arrived earlier than anticipated, starting on October 16. Experts believe the early shift in seasons is a consequence of climate change, causing disruptions to the region's weather patterns.
In addition, the fish market business is booming, with an increase in the buying and selling of fish as winter approaches.
