PMD predicts light rain in Karachi from Monday

Northern part of Sindh is also expected to experience light rain and thundershowers

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Sunday forecasted a spell of light rains in Karachi from Monday, Express News reported.

According to the PMD’s Early Warning Centre, light rain/drizzle is expected to lash the city, which can persist for two consecutive days, starting from Monday.

The weather pattern is attributed to western winds impacting the central and upper regions of the country, resulting in anticipated overcast conditions. The northern region of Sindh is also expected to experience light rain and thundershowers in its rural areas.

PMD concluded by saying that the same weather system caused partially cloudy conditions in Karachi on Sunday.

Meanwhile, according to Radio Pakistan, windstorm/rain-thunderstorm is expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Sunday.

It added that heavy rainfall was also expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Pothohar region.
