KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court has sought a response from the petitioner's lawyer on the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reply to the petition of actors Mehwish Hayat and Rabia Iqbal alias Kubra Khan against Adil Farooq Raja for running a false campaign on social media.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto heard the petition.

FIA cybercrime circle submitted the report to the court stating that content against Rabia Iqbal has been removed from the websites and social media accounts identified by Rabia Iqbal. The court adjourned the hearing after seeking reply from Kubra Khan's lawyer.

In the petition, the stand was taken that the YouTuber ex-army officer humiliated four actresses by running false allegations against them. "My and other actresses' honour and dignity was hurt by false and fabricated allegations." YouTuber Adil Farooq Raja later clarified in another video and backtracked from the earlier stance.

FIA and PTA were contacted to remove the defamatory content but no action was taken.

PTI leader's petition

The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Chief Secretary Sindh, Home Department, DC South, Chairman Food Department and others on PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman's petition against sealing of the restaurant. The public prosecutor stated that the court notice was not received. The court again issued notices to Chief Secretary Sindh, Home Department, DC South, Chairman Food Department and others and asked the parties to respond by October 18.

In the petition, the position was adopted that the Food Authority and DC South had sealed the restaurant on the basis of a fabricated report. It seems that PTI is being targeted for political revenge. Due to restaurant closure, the business is badly affected. The source of income of the restaurant workers has come to a halt. The government should be ordered to de-seal the restaurant immediately.
