ISPR says five terrorists eliminated amid intense fire exchange

An army officer and a soldier embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Sambaza area of Zhob district in Balochistan, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the military, said in a statement on Monday.

The ISPR said that five terrorists were eliminated amid intense fire exchange during the IBO. "On night [of] October 8/9, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Sambaza, Zhob District, on reported presence of terrorists," it said.

During the operation, it continued, the terrorists were surrounded and after an intense exchange of fire, “five terrorists were sent to hell”.

The ISPR said that Maj Syed Ali Raza Shah, 31, a resident of Sargodha district, who was leading the operation from the front, and Havaldar Nisar Ahmed, 38, a resident of Vehari district, having fought gallantly, made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat in the exchange of fire.

"Security forces of Pakistan are indebted and proud of our brave men and pay homage to their chivalry and sacrifices for the motherland, which further strengthens our resolve to uproot the menace of terrorism from the country," the ISPR said.

The sanitisation of the surrounding areas was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
