Hrithik, Shah Rukh and Salman to reportedly star together in spy universe's 'War 2'
Forget Marvel Cinematic Universe, Bollywood's Yash Raj Films is currently working on its own spy universe! The popular studio has begun working extensively towards a well-intertwined storyline, merging several hit films. After Shah Rukh's mega-hit, Pathaan, YRF announced another film, Tiger v Pathaan, starring Salman and King Khan as titular characters.
Now, reports by the Indian media suggest that the Brahmastra famed director, Ayan Mukerji, who will helm Hrithik Roshan's War sequel, will bring together three superstars in the 2025 offering.
A source told India Today, “The muharat for War 2 has already happened. Ayan is looking at starting shooting for the film this month itself. While Hrithik is currently in Italy for Fighter, he will soon return to commence shooting for War 2. In the meantime, shooting with NTR Jr might begin. Kiara Advani has also been locked as the female lead for the action-thriller.”
The source added, “The film is exciting for several reasons but also because Ayan’s directorial will be the first film in the YRF spy universe to bring the three megastars together. The epic Tiger x Pathaan x Kabir union onscreen will happen in War 2.”
On the other hand, Yash Raj Films has confirmed that filmmaker Siddharth Anand will be directing the much-anticipated film Tiger vs Pathaan as part of the studio's spy universe. The movie will feature Shah Rukh and Salman, who will be sharing the screen together in this capacity for the first time since their 1995 film Karan Arjun.
Tiger vs Pathaan will be the biggest film ever produced in India, with Siddharth Anand receiving full support from Yash Raj Films to create a remarkable movie.
Furthermore, a source close to Yash Raj Films informed the Times of India that only the two leading men have been locked in thus far for the cast. This raises questions about whether or not Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif will be taking up their respective roles from their films of origin.
“It all depends on how the two heroines’ roles shape up,” the source stated. “If this time they don’t have much to do then Tiger vs Pathaan may not opt for the leading ladies from the original (Katrina from Tiger and Deepika from Pathaan). For all you know there may be just one leading lady for both the Khan superstars."
