Condition of tortured student improves
The condition of five-year-old Haroon, a madrassa student who was forced to swallow nails by a religious scholar as punishment, has improved over the last 24 hours. The child is now able to communicate with sign language. According to details, five-year-old Haroon attended a madrassa on MA Jinnah Road on September 24th, where his teacher Qari Shahid allegedly put two nails in his mouth as a punishment for not remembering the lesson.
One of the six-centimeter nails fell from his mouth, while the other got stuck in his respiratory tract, causing internal injuries. The boy was rushed to Nishtar Hospital, where Dr Kaleemullah and his team removed the nail through his mouth without any incision. Haroon was treated in Nishtar Hospital’s ICU for three days, from where he was shifted to Ward 9A on Thursday.
On the other hand, BZ police station registered a case under Section 324 PPC two days ago on the complaint of victim’s father and started searching for the alleged accused. The suspect remains at large.
