This is with reference to Ayesha Siddiqa's article of June 27. Since Pakistan’s creation, we have been ruled by a strong military bureaucracy that has hampered the growth of our political system. Consequently, our body politic is incompetent and dependent upon the military establishment for its survival. People have been forced to buy the military’s rhetoric on national security. Might is right is the order of the day, in what is now, a national security centric state.
