The Kazi group has eventually wrested administrative control of Isra University from Laghari group as Dr Ahmed Waliullah Kazi took the charge of his office as the acting vice chancellor on Monday at Hyderabad campus.
He later told a press conference at the campus that after the police drove out many private guards of former VC Dr Nazeer Ashraf Laghari besides making its deployment at the campus the chancellor, vc, registrar, director finance and director human resource have taken the seats in their respective offices.
Kazi said they are trying to ensure that the classes and the routine operations of the varsity resumed from September 26. "The police are deployed at the campus. It will pose some problems. But with the passage of time the deployment will end."
Previously, the Kazi family allegedly encountered resistance from Dr Laghari's guards whenever they attempted to enter the Hyderabad campus.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on September 15 had barred Dr Laghari from continuing to occupy the office of the VC because his three-year tenure had completed on June 23. The court had also directed the chancellor to appoint a permanent VC within four months and in the interim make the necessary arrangements to run the varsity.
Acting VC Waliullah Kazi claimed that the varsity collected around Rs2 billion annually in its revenue. However, when they inquired from the court appointed Nazir who is responsible for the accounts they came to know that only a sum of up to Rs17.5 million is deposited in that account. "This is a serious question and we need to look into it." Dr Kazi advised the parents and students depositing cash fee to stop that practice and deposit fee in the bank accounts. According to him, the only acceptable evidence of the deposit is in the form of the bank receipt. The former Chancellor Prof Dr Hameedullah Kazi and others were present on the occasion.
