RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha announced on Sunday that 100 kanals of land has exclusively been allocated for minorities at the Rakh Dhamial graveyard where construction efforts are currently in progress.

He said the development work is expected to be completed in the near future. Commissioner Chattha made this announcement during his visit to the Rakh Dhamial graveyard, where he also inspected the ongoing construction work on the designated land for minorities. MCR Chief Officer Chauhdari Amjad and MO Rifaqat Gondal were present during the commissioner's visit.

Liaquat Ali Chattha underscored the significance of the Rakh Dhamial graveyard in addressing the burial needs of the local community.

The allocation of 100 kanals of land for minorities serves as a testament to Pakistan's commitment to safeguarding the rights and religious freedom of its minority population, he said.

He emphasised that fostering interfaith harmony can create an environment of brotherhood and unity among all citizens.

Furthermore, Commissioner Chattha highlighted that each grave in the Rakh Dhamial graveyard is allocated through a well-structured planning process that includes proper numbering.
