KARACHI:

The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) has officially declared Syed Qamar Abbas as an imposter claiming to be a lawyer, accused of defrauding numerous citizens of substantial sums of money.

Following a written complaint by Wajid Hussain, a resident of Muzaffargarh, the SBC executive committee issued a notice summoning Syed Qamar Abbas, son of Syed Bashir Ali Jaffri, with a two-week deadline for appearance. However, Syed Qamar Abbas failed to present himself before the Executive Committee despite the given timeframe.

The SBC executive committee conducted a thorough review of its records and could find no evidence of Syed Qamber Abbas, registered as a lawyer. Consequently, the council disassociated itself from him, asserting that it is not affiliated with him if he claims to be a lawyer.

The complainant, Wajid Hussain, alleged that Syed Qamar Abbas, posing as a lawyer, had defrauded numerous innocent citizens, including the complainant. Multiple First Information Reports (FRs) have been filed against him.

Therefore, the request for a comprehensive investigation into Syed Qamar Abbas’ credentials has been made. Efforts would be made to recover the fraudulent funds.
