Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, who went ‘missing’ from Islamabad a week ago along with his nephew and a domestic servant still remains missing with concerns for his safety growing with each passing day.
Amid the ‘lawlessness’, former lawmaker and the missing AML leader’s nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, has made an appeal for the safe return of the missing PTI ally and his associates, urging their presentation in court.
In a video statement released on Saturday, former MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq emphasised that a full week has passed since Rashid disappeared from Islamabad. He clarified that there are no legal cases against them and mentioned that Sheikh Shakir, another individual missing, is not involved in politics.
He stated their willingness to face any court proceedings if necessary. Sheikh Rashid Shafiq urged authorities to provide information regarding the well-being and whereabouts of Sheikh Rashid, Sheikh Shakir, and Sheikh Imran. He highlighted the politician's contributions to Rawalpindi, including the establishment of 65 educational institutions in his constituency, and emphasised that Sheikh Rashid has remained free of corruption allegations throughout his five-decade-long political career.
He also mentioned that Lal Haveli, Sheikh Rashid's residence, had been sealed and was under police guard.
