Sherakot police arrested a man accused of attempting to sexually assault a nine-year-old boy, following an emergency call made by the victim's family.
The child had gone missing from his home in Sherakot for several hours. His family alerted the police through the emergency helpline.
The police said the minor, a resident of the Talat Park area, had gone to play at the home of a neighbour, Habib. The suspect allegedly took the child into a room and attempted inappropriate acts.
Officials added that the child raised alarm, forcing the suspect to flee. He reportedly escaped to his in-laws' house in Bakar Mandi to evade capture.
The child later confided in his father, Akram, who called the emergency 15 number to report the incident. Acting on the complaint.
