The police arrested six suspected members of a robbery gang on Friday and seized Rs725,000 in cash, four motorcycles, mobile phones and weapons.
According to the police report, SHO Jhang Bazar Sub-Inspector Rizwan Shaukat and ASI Riasat Ali conducted raids at various locations and arrested the suspected ringleader of the Rashid gang, which was involved in robbery and snatching motorcycles.
Police arrested Rashid, Waqas and Mohammad Faisal. The raid team recovered three stolen motorcycles worth Rs220,000, two mobile phones worth Rs100,000, a pistol and Rs725,000 in cash. Police said the three accused confessed to dozens of robberies within the limits of different police stations.
In another operation, SHO Madina Town Omer Sarfaraz Waraich and Sub-Inspector Sibtain Raza conducted raids in 208 RB and arrested Mohammad Ali, Hamza and Saqib.
