KURIANWALA:

Police have registered a murder case against the president of the Anjuman-e-Tajiran Allied Group along with his colleagues.

The suspects are accused of torturing an aged man to death, police said.

Police had mounted a search for the accused.

According to the police report, Amjad Mehmood, son of Sher Zaman, a resident of Chandni Chowk, Salam Nagar, New Civil Line, had taken a stand in the case filed with the police that he worked as a spare parts seller.

Two years ago, the President of the Anjuman-e-Tajiran Allied Group, Pervaiz Iqbal Kumuka, had a car repaired by him.

The complainant stated in the case that after two years Pervaiz Kamuka complained that he (Amjad Mehmood) had fumbled with his car, and instead of repairing it he had made it worse.

The police report said that the complainant stated that Kamuka allegedly demanded of him reparation of Rs4 million.

“Now for this reason, he came home and knocked on the door. My father, 76-year-old Sher Zaman, son of Baz Gul, who had been resting in his bed, got up and opened the door.

“The accused, Pervaiz Iqbal, along with his four armed companions, attacked my father,” said the complainant in his case filed with the police.

“He grabbed him by the neck and started abusing him and said that pay Rs4 million otherwise I will kill you. Call your son, Amjad. Where is he? I will not spare him either,” the complainant told the police.

The complainant alleged that the accused tortured his father and punched him in the chest due to which his condition worsened.

The accused Pervez Iqbal Kumuka later escaped along with his companions.

The complainant said that he took his father to a hospital where he died.
