Teenage girl gang raped in Rawalpindi

Police claim to have arrested all suspects

RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi police Monday claim to have arrested three suspects for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in the Dhoke Illahi Bux area within the limits of Waris Khan police station.

According to sources, the complainant told the police that the 15-year-old victim went along with her maternal uncle to her friend’s house. Upon reaching her friend’s house she told her uncle to wait for her as she was going to come back in a short while after meeting her friend. However, when she did not return for a long time, the victim’s uncle called her father and both of them started searching for the girl.

“When I entered the building to look for my daughter, I heard cries of my daughter from inside a house and when we entered into the house, Rambo and Kashif were standing outside a room,” the complainant told the police.

“When we tried to enter the room, Kashif and others attacked us, but by foiling the attack, we entered the room, where my daughter was crying and her shirt was also torn, while Joel alias Soumi ran away from the spot,” he added.

The complainant alleged that his daughter was raped by Johal alias Somi along with his two other accomplices. “My daughter told me while crying that Joel alias Somi forcibly dragged her up the stairs and raped her,” he said.On the complaint of the victim’s father, police registered a case and launched an investigation. During the investigation, the police managed to arrest all the nominated suspects.

The medical examination of the victim was also completed at a local hospital, a police spokesperson said, adding that Section 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code was added to the FIR after the victim accused multiple suspects of the crime.

He said the arrested accused would be charge-sheeted with concrete evidence and accordingly punished.
