RAWALPINDI:

A mother of two children was allegedly raped in the radiology department of Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi.

Police have registered a case and also arrested a ward boy for his alleged involvement in the case while the primary suspect remains at large.

The initial medical examination of the victim showed signs of sexual abuse.

The victim woman informed the police that her parents are deceased. She added that she was divorced three years ago and has two children who reside with her ex-husband.

The woman disclosed that the accused individual, Faizan, had been in a relationship with her for three years and had promised to tie the knot with her. On the day of the incident, Faizan took her to a small room in the hospital's radiology department and allegedly raped her, the woman said, adding that the suspect also recorded the act on his mobile phone.

According to the police complaint, the main accused, Faizan was assisted by a hospital official Abdul Aleem and works as a computer operator. Faizan and Aleem are friends and residents of Gujar Khan.

According to a press release issued by the hospital administration, after receiving information about the incident, the footages from CCTV cameras were seen, in which the wanted stranger and the woman enter the hospital together on August 12 at around 3pm. At 3:23pm the man and the woman leave the hospital separately. The two are seen in the radiology department, emergency and orthopedics department. During this time, the woman did not contact the hospital administration and did not make any complaint. However, later the police registered a case including charges of rape on the victim's complaint.

The hospital administration, in contrast, has suspended the co-accused, Abdul Aleem and begun proceedings, claiming the act was mutual.

The CCTV footage showed the woman and the accused entering and leaving the hospital together, but she did not immediately report the incident. The police have acquired the initial medical report and detained Abdul Aleem, while working to apprehend the main accused, Faizan.

Police are making efforts to gather evidence and pursue various angles in the incident.

Despite the hospital administration's claims, the police are cooperating with the victim and pursuing the case.

Momin | 7 months ago | Reply Until there is a death penalty for convicted rapists which necessitates unbiased and non-corrupt investigation judicial process and trials impossible in Pakistan instead of governmental and societal cover ups and victim.blaming there can be no justice for anyone on Pakistans soul. There is a reason rapes and abuse of children is nationwide and rampant. Qanoon apne hathon me lo or insaaf mil jaye ga. Police or media siraf mazeed zulm or azeeyat denge.
