The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) carried out an operation against four illegal housing schemes and demolished various illegal structures, including the main gates, bunkers, bill boards, dividers, and road infrastructure associated with these unauthorised housing schemes.
According to a spokesperson, the action was prompted by public complaints regarding fraudulent activities, deception, and forgery by these illegal housing schemes, preying on unsuspecting citizens.
The housing schemes include Abdullah City, Avalon City, Blue World City, and Al-Imran Homes.
Under the directives of Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta, chairman of the task force and RDA Director General Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa led the operation on Chakri Road.
The Director General emphasised that such operations would continue to thwart the fraudulent practices of illegal housing schemes. Additionally, they warned that strict action would be taken against any individuals involved in the illegal occupation of land, resorting to armed force.
Saif Anwar Jappa noted that housing scheme owners with proper legal documentation have been given due consideration. RDA consistently issued public advisories, urging citizens not to invest in illegal housing schemes, he added.
