Ex-PM Shehbaz, NA speaker express their best wishes for Justice Isa

ISLAMABAD:

Prominent political figures and parties extended their congratulations to Justice Qazi Faez Isa on his inauguration as the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan.

PML-N President and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Justice Isa on assuming the role of Chief Justice, expressing hope that the new top judge would uphold the revered traditions of justice.

He emphasized that justice could only be achieved through adherence to the Constitution, laws, and regulations.

Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged that the people were eagerly awaiting justice and expressed optimism that Justice Isa's leadership would enhance the reputation of Pakistan's judiciary globally. He concluded by offering his best wishes for the new Chief Justice's successful tenure.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, a member of the PPP, also extended his best wishes to Justice Isa in his new capacity. He described Justice Isa as a capable and seasoned jurist and hoped that the justice institutions under his leadership would operate more effectively. Ashraf emphasized the necessity of collaboration among the legislature, judiciary, and executive branches to uphold the rule of law and justice in the country.

The PTI, in a gesture of goodwill, offered its "warm congratulations" to Justice Isa. The party expressed optimism that Justice Isa would steadfastly protect the fundamental rights of citizens while upholding the principles of justice.

The PTI spokesperson stated that they had confidence in the new Chief Justice's commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law, emphasizing that a just and prosperous society was built on equity and fairness. The PTI called upon Justice Isa and the judicial system to take effective measures to uphold the Constitution's supremacy and the rule of law.

The spokesperson also expressed hope that the new Chief Justice's top priority would be safeguarding the constitutional rights of political detainees, particularly incarcerated women, and addressing cases of forced disappearances, which have become a matter of concern for many in the country. The judiciary was described as a beacon of hope for upholding the Constitution and the law.
