A special ceremony was held at the University of Haripur to launch a book centred around ‘general business’, authored by Rehmat Sahib. The event aimed to establish a bridge between students and real-world industry experiences, fostering practical learning opportunities.
According to a spokesperson for the UoH, Vice Chancellor, Dr Shafiqur Rahman was the chief guest of the ceremony while the deans, chairpersons, sectional heads of the university and the author of the book himself were present at the event.
On the occasion, the VC emphasised the importance of both reading and publication of books. He spoke about the educational rights of the students and said, “The students are the bright future of my country and I prioritise the provision of the rights of our students in every situation and it is our duty morally, legally and religiously. We have to guide and provide mentorship to students in every aspect. If we do not do this, how will we answer Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection.”
The author, Rehmat Sahib, while talking about his book said, “This book is based on entrepreneurial higher education to connect students with industry and practical learning during their degrees so that the University of Haripur can produce Zakat-giving students instead of Zakat-taking students.”
Moreover, he suggested that if every faculty member at the University of Haripur were to invest just Rs1,000 per month, a substantial sum would accumulate monthly. This pooled resource could then be directed towards students, enabling many to not only attain their university degrees but also enhance their prospects for a brighter future, ultimately contributing to the reputation and progress of their country and society as a whole.
Addressing the publication of the book, VC Dr Rehman expressed hope that this book would prove immensely beneficial for the students.
