QUETTA:

In a concerted effort to combat sugar hoarding, the district administration in Quetta has launched a decisive crackdown. A press statement issued on Wednesday highlighted the proactive measures being taken against sugar hoarders in the region.

During the operation conducted on Sariab Road, Quetta, a substantial haul of 475 tons of sugar was seized, marking a significant step toward curbing hoarding. Additionally, two warehouses were promptly sealed as part of the crackdown.

It’s worth noting that, thanks to the persistent efforts of the district administration, sugar prices in Quetta have seen a notable reduction, now standing at Rs160 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Balochistan Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mehmoodul Hassan Mandukhel, emphasized the caretaker government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people. He conveyed this assurance during a meeting with former Nazim Javed Ahmad Khan, a prominent provincial leader of the Muslim League-N, who had sought his audience to discuss issues related to the Railway Colony and the local community.
