A happy person always gives happiness to others: Kapil Sharma appreciates Saba Qamar’s wise words

The Indian comedian and artist shared a video of the Pakistani star on social media

Kapil Sharma, renowned in India and on this side of the border for his live-audience comedy talk show The Kapil Sharma Show, recently took to his Instagram Story to praise Pakistani star Saba Qamar for her profound observation regarding people’s psyche. The beloved entertainer appreciated the Cheekh star's wisdom by sharing a video snippet of her from one of her recent interviews.

During a guest appearance on Imran Ashraf’s show Mazaq Raat, the Kamli star expressed her belief that a happy person always spreads happiness around them, while an unhappy person always finds reasons to be unhappy with others, “Khush insaan hamesha dosroon ko khushi deta hai. Naraaz insaan dosroon sey naraaz hee rehta hai (A happy person always gives happiness to others. An unhappy person always stays unhappy with others)”. This observation seemed to resonate deeply with Kapil and he ended up resharing it with his 45 million followers on Instagram.

This interview resulted in many highlight-worthy moments and was also significantly marked by the Maat actor’s on-screen admission that she had someone special in her life. Saba’s outward poise and grace was reflected in her words, as she consistently threw in her pearls of wisdom mid-conversation and while opening up about her experiences in life.

Saba Qamar may be seen as a contemporary of the standup comedian as they both have Bollywood projects credited to their name. The Baaghi star made her debut in B-town with a lead role in film Hindi Medium opposite the late renowned actor Irrfan Khan. Since the film came out in 2017, the Cheekh actor has not been able to return to Bollywood for any new roles and was also unable to reprise her role in the sequel Angrezi Medium due to the heightened political tension between India and Pakistan.

However, despite the political hostility between the two countries not looking to ease up any time soon, the Manto actor remains hopeful that her talent will be allowed to shine across the border in Indian productions and films as well. “I am hoping for the best, I am a positive person and God willing, I will work in Bollywood," stated Saba on the matter of her once again displaying her acting chops in Bollywood.

With the rise of over-the-top (OTT) platforms and people’s increased preference for streaming content, it could also be that the Ghabrana Nahi Hai star appears in an Indian drama series before she is able to make her comeback in mainstream Bollywood.

In 2018, Saba starred opposite fellow Pakistani actor Nauman Ijaz in a play that was streamed on Zee5, an Indian subscription and video-on-demand OTT steaming service owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises. The drama series was titled Mrs. & Mr. Shameem and was a great example of cross-border collaboration between Pakistani on-camera and behind-the-scenes talent and Indian entertainment executives.

Mrs. & Mr. Shameem was released and accompanied by other Pakistani plays like the famous, albeit controversial, women-centered series Churails, the much-loved Ek Jhoothi Love Story, and the heart-wrenching melodrama Dhoop Ki Deewar.
