Couple shot dead in front of minor child

In a heart-wrenching incident, unidentified assailants shot dead a couple in broad daylight in front of their minor child in Sector I-11 of the federal capital on Saturday.
A video of the incident, showing the couple’s two-year-old child – who miraculously remained unscathed and kept standing next to the bodies of his parents after the attack – went viral on social media.
According to sources, the armed assailants targeted the victims as they arrived for shopping. As a result of the firing, the couple died on the spot while their two-year-old child remained unharmed.
The video shows the child standing by the bodies of his parents with a feeder in his hands. The victims were identified as Rehana Sardar and Zafar Iqbal. The suspects fled after carrying out the attack. The Subzi Mandi police reached the spot and started an investigation.
According to a spokesperson for the Islamabad police, the victims were killed by their relatives over a personal dispute.
