QUETTA:

In a significant victory against terrorism, the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully neutralized five dangerous TTP terrorists during a fierce encounter in the Aghberg area of Quetta, the provincial capital. This operation unfolded on Thursday morning.

The CTD Spokesman confirmed that the five terrorists, affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), met their end during a fiery exchange of gunfire in the Aghberg region. The operation was carefully planned, guided by intelligence provided by an alleged TTP terrorist named Naseebullah, who had been in CTD custody.

Naseebullah’s cooperation during interrogation proved instrumental in uncovering the presence of his associates in Quetta, who were reportedly in the advanced stages of planning a sabotage activity within the city.

The official press statement elucidated that the operation was set in motion based on the information gleaned from Naseebullah, who had been nominated in FIR number 84-2023. When the CTD team arrived at the location and cordoned it off, an intense exchange of gunfire ensued. The terrorists, evidently aware of the impending threat, opened indiscriminate fire in a desperate bid to escape the encirclement.

Two of the militants made a desperate attempt to flee on a motorcycle, but the vigilant raiding party responded with precision, returning fire. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, additional security forces were summoned as backup. With their concerted efforts, the fleeing terrorists were successfully contained after a protracted gunfight.

As a result of this operation, four TTP militants were eliminated, dealing a significant blow to the nefarious activities of the terrorist organization.

The arrested accused person, Naseebullah, sustained severe injuries during the exchange of fire with his own associates and later succumbed to his wounds.
