Woman murdered by estranged husband
In yet another act of brutality, a woman named Nyala Bibi lost her life in the Swat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
The assailant, her disgruntled husband, callously shot her dead in broad daylight, leaving her minor son traumatized and grieving by her lifeless body.
This gruesome incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and beyond as images of the lifeless Nyala Bibi and her inconsolable son circulated on social media.
The heart-wrenching episode occurred within the jurisdiction of Banr in Mingora city, Swat. Additional SP Swat, Ghulam Sadiq Khan, provided details to the media. According to Khan, the incident occurred in the morning when the accused, Akhtar Ali, opened fire on his wife.
The couple had been separated for a considerable period, and Nyala Bibi had taken legal steps to seek a divorce from her husband.
She had been residing with her parents, distancing herself from Akhtar Ali. On this fateful morning, she was en route with her young son to meet a relative when the assailant intercepted her and ruthlessly ended her life. Akhtar Ali, a resident of Bhatai Chowk in Mingora, resented over his wife’s pursuit of divorce following their years-long separation.
Law enforcement apprehended the perpetrator, recovering the weapon used in the heinous crime.
In a separate and equally distressing incident, unidentified attackers targeted Sher Wali Baghi, a prominent district leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), on DI Khan Road in Bannu.
Baghi lost his life on the spot, leaving the community in shock and mourning. The assailants, riding a motorcycle, managed to escape the scene of the crime, eluding capture.
