Eight killed in Punjab road crashes
At least 8 people were killed and 1,251 people were injured in 1,216 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the past 24 hours.
Of the injured, 612 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 639 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.
The majority of RTCs, 75%, involved motorcycles. Further analysis showed those 633 drivers, 33 underage drivers, 197 pedestrians and 429 passengers were among the victims of RTCs.
The statistics show that 307 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 314 victims, placing the provincial capital at top of the list. Multan followed behind with 75 RTCs and 74 victims and Gujranwala at third with 71 RTCs and 63 victims.
The details further reveal that 1,216 victims were affected by RTCs, including 1,004 males and 255 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 217 were under 18 years of age, 668 were between 18 and 40 years old and the remaining 374 victims were reportedly above 40 years of age.
According to the data 1,046 motorcycles, 68 rickshaws, 108 cars, 16 vans, 11 buses, 31 trucks and 105 other types of auto vehicles.
