LAHORE:

After witnessing long queues of patients, delay in check-up, poor conditions in the wards and denial of free tests and medicines, Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered on Monday the removal of the Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital medical superintendent and the posting of a permanent principal.

After hearing patients’ complaints during his visit to the hospital regarding mismanagement and neglect of duties, he also issued directives to convert an under-construction cardiac centre to a general ward within three days.

He ordered an inquiry into complaints of patients asked to get diagnostic tests done from a specific lab outside the hospital.

A doctor from Sargodha Medical College also complained about disregard for seniority in the staff. During visits to several road projects, officials confirmed informed the caretaker CM that the Shahdara flyovers scheme was 84% complete, while the Nawaz Sharif interchange underpass had seen about 40% of its work finished.

During an aerial inspection of the Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop-III project, the caretaker CM said the 8km project would be completed by the end of this year.
