King of Bollywood is back: Audiences bowled over by 'Jawan' trailer

Many rushed to the internet to praise the legendary King Khan

The trailer for Jawan dropped yesterday, and while Shah Rukh Khan fans are undoubtedly excited, fans of the genre seem to be hyped up as well. An electrifying trailer, released on all social media platforms and then on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai itself - has created a pre-release buzz like never before.

While many are in agreement that the King of Bollywood may have another hit on his hands, people also cannot get over the magnitude of the release and what it would mean for Jawan to pave a path towards breaking records previously smashed by Pathaan. The excitement and anticipation are palpable. 

Many fans and admirers took to X to share their thoughts. "Nobody can match the hype and craze for SRK's movies. Whenever the movie releases, it becomes a festival," one X user noted, adding, "It's SRK vs. SRK." Truly, for a star to be their own competition and beat their own best is a compliment of the highest degree, in and of itself. 

Another fan highlighted how the crowd at the Dubai trailer launch was absolutely massive, and only a star like the one and only King Khan could have pulled off something so monumental. "Unbelievable craze for Shah Rukh Khan - the most popular star of India. This is not India, this is Dubai. Look at the numbers in the audience," said the admirer. One fan highlighted the elevated status of the star, saying, "King Khan travels in the boat at Burj Khalifa. The first [promotion] of its kind as the iconic fountain show at Burj Khalifa plays behind." Truly, a sight for sore eyes. 

Another fact many people noticed in the Jawan trailer was the meta dig at all those who came for his family. The legendary actor repeated these words at the Burj Khalifa trailer launch, dedicating it to all parents. "Epic," said one fan, repeating the dialogue. One SRK enthusiast said, "Genuinely enjoyed this trailer. If the film turns out to be this good, it might just be the best massy actioner we've seen in a long, long time. Super excited! P.S: That, "Bete ko hath lagane se pehle baap se baat kar" is definitely a meta joke about Wankhede."

Other fans commented on the trailer itself, noting, "I'm kind of stumped. This looks amazing, like a sprawling, decade-spanning action epic that utilises Shah Rukh to the maximum. Also, if the plot is what I think it is, it can end up being pretty, pretty spectacular. Love it!" Even actor and comedian Vir Das took to X to share the trailer and write, "King. This looks so good!" Comedian Kapil Sharma penned, "What a mind-blowing trailer of Jawan. Lots of love and best wishes to Shah Rukh Bhai and the entire team of Jawan. Can’t wait for September 7." 

Yet another X user and Shah Rukh devotee penned, "The trailer is top tier! So excited for the movie. It is SRK's world and we just live in it. This man works so hard [that] even after being number one, [he] simply inspires me! Super hit for sure." One fan penned a mini trailer review, highlighting, "Brilliant, mind-blowing. I am so glad they didn't give away the story completely and also glad that there will be [an] emotional narrative. SRK is amazing with all his looks, and so is Vijay Sethupathi. VFX and colour grading are awesome, [as is] Anirudh's music. Hyped for the movie!" 

Another fan said, "The King of Bollywood is back, and how. This is possibly going to be the best year for Bollywood in a long time."

Suffice it to say, people are bowled over, and cannot wait to watch Jawan once it hits theatres. The film will be available for consumption in theatres on September 7 and boasts a star-cast, high-octane action, and a much-needed dosage of the last of the stars.
