Minister assures smooth Hajj sojourn

Reviews preparations with various stakeholders

Minister for Religious Affairs Aniq Ahmed has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a smooth experience for pilgrims this year.

According to a statement, he chaired a comprehensive debriefing session to discuss preparations for Hajj 2023 on Thursday.

The session brought together various stakeholders, including the Director-General of Hajj Jeddah, representatives from airlines, banks, and Hajj group organisers.

“Our top priority is to provide exceptional facilities for our valued pilgrims,” emphasised Minister Aniq Ahmed.

He outlined this year’s Hajj agenda, which includes enhancing pilgrim education, upholding discipline, and improving physical fitness.

“We are dedicated to building trust in the rigorous training, organisation, and fitness of our pilgrims,” he added.

The statement further stated that the ministry is actively working to introduce both short and long-term Hajj packages within the government scheme. Additionally, an agreement has been reached to swiftly finalise accommodation, food, and transportation arrangements in Saudi Arabia.

Minister Aniq Ahmed is scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia soon to oversee the final stages of preparation and ensure optimal facilities for the pilgrims.

Minister also said the focus for this year’s Hajj is to provide pilgrims with a journey that prioritises their well-being, comfort, and spiritual growth.
