Rehman Dakait’s nephew ‘makes debut’

Failing to fit in the boots of his dreaded uncle, the nephew of Lyari’s notorious gangland boss Rehman Dacait, was caught for snatching a motorcycle at gunpoint.

Sardar Abdul Rehman Baloch, aka, Rehman Dakait, born to a family of drug dons of Lyari, had founded the Lyari Aman Committee to enter politics. However, he was shot dead in 2009 in a police encounter. His son, Gibran, was arrested last year for possessing explosives.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Kalakot SHO Inspector Ghafar Shah along with the police party raided Lyari Gharib Shah Road near Afshani Street on the night of Sunday and Monday and arrested Haris Baloch, son of Rehman Kana. Police claimed to have recovered a motorcycle snatched at gunpoint from Maripur area.

It is worth mentioning that Kana was killed in an alleged encounter in the Sindh Industrial and Trading Estate by police officer Inspector Sarwar Commando, the main character of the Karachi operation.

SHO Shah said Baloch was being interrogated regarding his accomplices and the incidents.
