TDCP makes waves with water sports gala

The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) organised a water sports gala accompanied by a family gala and a musical night at Dharavi Dam Tourist Resort.

Eminent athletes representing diverse regions of the country took part in water sports, where they demonstrated their exceptional abilities in boating competitions. Simultaneously, a large number of citizens, particularly children and women, actively engaged in the family gala.

The participants derived immense enjoyment from the boating competitions. Their enthusiasm and happiness was evident as they enjoyed the musical night. The audience swayed to the captivating fusion of classical, folk and contemporary music. Renowned drummer Khan Babar Khan from Talagang, along with his ensemble, showcased their artistry, earning resounding applause from the enthusiasts. Additionally, an array of stalls adorned the event venue.

Chakwal Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bilal bin Abdul Hafeez, Assistant Commissioner Bakhtiar Ismail, along with officials from various district departments, graced the occasion with their presence. Elaborating extensively on the proceedings of the water sports gala, Wahid Arjamand Zia, the General Manager of Operations at Tourism Development Punjab, conveyed to the journalists that the event had indeed offered substantial entertainment to the audience.

He said cultural and handicraft stalls were also established at the water sports gala for families to visit. Additionally, he acknowledged that the district administration extended utmost support to ensure the smooth execution of the water sports gala, a gesture for which he conveyed his gratitude to the administration.

Furthermore, he emphasised that through the sports gala, the Dharavi Tourist Resort is poised to emerge as a hub of captivating tourist activities. Just as other tourist destinations in Chakwal are renowned across the nation, the Dharavi Tourist Resort is also primed to become a global attraction for tourists from around the globe.

The enchanting and picturesque landscapes within the precincts of Chakwal district have garnered the attention of global tourists. The Kallar Kahar Lake situated in the Kallar Kahar district of Chakwal, accompanied by expansive, lush gardens encompassing the lake and the intricately sculpted Takht-e-Babri hewn from rock within these gardens, have emerged as focal points of interest for international travellers.
