In a recent development, the security system of Central Jail Adiala has been upgraded and made stricter.

According to sources, heavy jammers have been installed to block mobile phones, WhatsApp calls and messages from inside the jail premises.

Further, in addition to the installation of closed-circuit television cameras, the project to raise the boundary wall of the jail by 15 feet has also been initiated.

Sources said the contractor has started working round the clock to raise the boundary wall from the Adiala Road side of the jail.

They said from a height of 15 feet, the interior of the jail cannot be seen from the main Adiala Road. After the increase in the height of the wall, two and a half feet of barbed wire will also be installed on it, they added.

According to sources, the project of raising the boundary wall will be completed in five days. Further, the system of entrance to the Adiala Jail, and meeting of inmates with their relatives has also been fully computerised.

Meanwhile, the photo and complete data of the arrested suspects have also been interlinked with all jails and police stations while recruitment of security guards and wardens will also be made in the Jail.
