Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon have been locked as an on-screen pairing for the upcoming installment of Welcome. Rumours of the two possibly reuniting for the third film in the franchise had been swirling for a while now, and they have finally been confirmed by an inside source, according to Pinkvilla.

Bollywood fans and movie-goers are excited to see Akshay and Raveena return as a couple on the silver screen due to the amazing chemistry that they share and their history of working together on successful and high-grossing film projects in the past. The two actors also share this sentiment with fans and are looking forward to working with each other.

The source said, “Akshay and Raveena have worked together on multiple films including cults like Mohra. Their last collaboration was Police Force: An Inside Story.” The two were a beloved pairing back in the ‘90s and life imitated art for them because they were also in a romantic relationship during that era. “It has taken 20 years and a comic caper like Welcome 3 to bring the two of them together. While details of their dynamic in the film have been kept under wraps, it is unlike anything they have done before," the source added.

The third part of the franchise and sequel to films Welcome and Welome Back is titled Welcome to the Jungle and is being made by the same producer, Firoz Nadiadwala. The film will have an ensemble cast that also includes Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. The source shared that Welcome to the Jungle will be an ‘adventure comedy’ and that pre-production work is underway while shooting schedules are simultaneously being figured out.

Welcome to the Jungle is slated for a Christmas 2024 release.
