Haris Rauf’s ‘lucky charm’ is wife, Muzna Masood Malik
The Pakistan cricket team's beloved pacer, Haris Rauf had an astounding victory after what was no less than an excellent performance in a game against Afghanistan. Later, Rauf attributed his stellar performance to the presence of his wife who came to cheer him on.
While the bowler has undoubtedly been a fan favourite over the course of his career, leading the Pakistani team to many triumphs, the cricketer is said to have had an extra stroke of luck in his last match. As Rauf played his game, many fans in the stadium noticed his newly-wed wife, Muzna Masood Malik anxiously watching her husband’s game from the VIP gallery.
In a post-match interview with his fellow teammates - Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah - the man of the match himself took the time to appreciate his wife’s presence, claiming her to be the reason for his victory. When asked about his experience in his first post-marriage match, he is reported to have said, “Definitely, there have been changes in life after the wedding. Alhamdulillah, [Muzna] is lucky for me.”
The player was recognizably delighted with his and the team’s performance as well, stating, “Obviously, a start like this in a series is morale boosting ahead of mega events like [the] Asia Cup and World Cup.”
While Rauf expresses his appreciation for Masood, it is worthy of note that although the couple tied the knot last year in December, their reception and other wedding festivities only just occured in July of 2023.
