KARACHI:

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Wednesday assured businessmen that the interim government would make maximum efforts to address the challenges faced by the business community of Karachi.

The premier, while talking to businessmen associated with small and medium enterprises (SMEs), stressed that keeping in view the limited timeframe and mandate, the caretaker government would put in all efforts to make a new beginning for Karachi and Pakistan.

He pointed out that Karachi, once a vacation destination for the people of Balochistan, had lost its grandeur and suffered from economic and social issues, adding that the city was a home to multiple ethnicities and cultures representing the whole of Pakistan.

Kakar declared that the interim government would strive to make Pakistan such a state which Quaide- Azam and Allama Iqbal had dreamt of.

He said that considering the poor treatment of minorities in the neighbouring country, the people of Pakistan should be thankful for the foresightedness of Quaid-e-Azam who had struggled for a separate homeland.

The PM emphasised that mutual respect, giving people their rights and following the Quran’s teachings could help resolve over 90% of the problems confronting the country.

He assured the business community that the Sindh chief secretary and other government officials would bring them on board while establishing a mechanism to resolve their issues.
