Minister calls for setting up business parks
Caretaker Federal Minister of Commerce Dr Gohar Ejaz on Tuesday floated a proposal for establishing “business parks” in major cities in an effort to enhance Pakistan’s trade for sustainable economic growth and consolidate its global trade connections.
These parks, to be designed as facilitation centres, will serve as hubs for foreign traders, enhancing trade relationships and driving economic growth.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting held with prominent exporters and traders.
He reiterated his determination to explore every possible avenue to unlock Pakistan’s export potential. He noted that the proposed business parks would prove to be vital stepping stones for realising high economic growth and prosperity.
The discussions focused on immediate solutions including the establishment of buying houses and utilisation of rental buildings managed by the local business community. These measures will address the urgent need for facilitation of foreign traders.
Ejaz emphasised the necessity to adopt a strategic approach for ramping up the country’s exports. He called for targeting specific countries according to their respective sectors to maximise the impact of Pakistan’s export efforts.
This tailoured strategy, he believes, will yield more favourable results and enhance Pakistan’s global trade relationships.
He promised full support of the government to the business community.
