Alhamra appoints new executive director
Tariq Mahmood Chaudhry has been appointed Executive Director of Lahore Arts Council Alhamra, the Punjab government announced on Tuesday.
Chaudhry, who has served as Additional Secretary Admin in the Department of Information and Culture, Punjab, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He has held several key positions in the government, including Director General of the Punjab Archives and Libraries.
In his new role, Chaudhry will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Alhamra, as well as developing and implementing new programs and initiatives. He is also tasked with promoting the arts and culture of Punjab.
In a statement, Chaudhry said he was honored to be appointed Executive Director of Alhamra and pledged to uphold the council’s reputation as a leading cultural institution in Pakistan.
“I am committed to preserving the rich tapestry of literature, culture, and values that define our society,” he said. “I will work tirelessly to ensure that Alhamra continues to play a vital role in promoting the arts and culture of Punjab.”
