Seven suspects killed in 11 encounters: police

'17 illegal weapons, six stolen pickups and six stolen and snatched motorcycles seized during the week'

Seven suspects were killed and 18 were arrested, including 10 in injured condition during the 11 encounters reported in the city last week, a police spokesperson said.

During these shootouts, police recovered 17 illegal weapons, six stolen pickups and six stolen and snatched motorcycles during the week, said a report from the police head office.

In a series of raids in the East, West, and South zones of the city, police arrested of more than 828 suspects in total, the weekly report said. These arrests were made in line with the on-going anti-narcotics campaign. During these operations, a significant quantity of narcotics was seized, including 46.44 kilogrammes of hashish and heroin and 1.3 kilogrammes of methamphetamine worth millions of rupees.

Furthermore, during these operations against street criminals, more than 163 illegal weapons, along with ammunition, were confiscated. These weapons had been used in various incidents of robbery and looting targeting civilians, adding to the concern of public safety.

In an effort to recover stolen property, Karachi police retrieved 75 stolen motorcycles and 3 stolen vehicles during operations in different areas.
