Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Jawan’ is his most expensive film yet
After the incredible box-office success of Pathaan, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan is set to deliver another blockbuster hit this year with his upcoming film Jawan. According to a report by Filmfare, Jawan is expected by many critics and movie-goers to rake in big numbers following its September release.
The media outlet also reported that Jawan is the most expensive film that SRK has starred in till now, with a whopping budget of INR300 crore allocated to its production.
The high-octane action thriller was directed by accomplished Tamil filmmaker Atlee Kumar and was produced in collaboration with Red Chillies Entertainment. Co-founder of the production house and wife of SRK, Gauri Khan helmed the project’s production. In the film, King Khan plays the role of an enigmatic vigilante of sorts who is on a quest to fulfill a personal vendetta.
Sharing the silver screen with B-town’s evergreen heartthrob and hero are Tamil film industry stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Variety reported that they both will play an important role in the film, along with actors Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Ridhi Dogra. The film also features a special cameo appearance by Deepika Padukone.
Slated for release on September 7, 2023, Jawan promises a visual treat for action lovers and fans of SRK. The teaser trailer for the film shows glimpses of large, action-packed sequences with SRK at the center in each frame. Not much about the storyline is revealed in the trailer, but we do know that we will be seeing the actor in a number of avatars throughout the film. There will be a romantic side to the sometimes masked, sometimes fully bandaged, and other times bald hero who may also embody a few characteristics of an anti-hero.
Pathaan and Jawan are not the only films that the King of Bollywood will be appearing in this year. His film Dunki opposite Taapsee Pannu is also set for a late December release.
