Suspects in murder case arrested
Nishatabad Police arrested two suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of a young man during a robbery attempt.
Muhammad Waqas, 27, residing in Muradabad Ghulam Muhammadabad's Street No. 3, had been taking a stroll with his wife Aqsa and nephew Asad Nawaz.
While going past Chak No. 46/JB, they had encountered two strangers who allegedly stole Rs19,000 from Waqas and robbed Aqsa of her jewelry, including four bangles, two rings and a pair of gold hooks weighing five tolas.
Waqas had challenged the robbers who opened fire on the trio. Waqas and his nephew had suffered gunshot wounds. Aqsa had miraculously escaped unhurt.
Waqas had died of his injuries.
Under the directives of SP Madina Town Hafiz Kamran Asghar, DSP Nishatabad Mian Munir Ahmad, SHO Nishatabad Arslan Bari and ASI Farooq Nazer, teams were formed to conduct searches.
Police apprehended two suspects residing within the jurisdiction of Raza Abad Police Station.
The suspects were allegedly found in possession of money, weapons and stolen jewelry.
CPO Usman Akram Gondal expressed appreciation by awarding cash rewards and certificates to SHO Nishatabad Mian Arslan Bari, ASI Farooq Nazer and their team.
