PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Secretary of Education, Mohtasim Billah Shah, took action on Monday by suspending multiple staff members from public sector schools, including principals and headmasters.

Their suspension followed their failure to organize Independence Day celebrations, as ordered.

During visits to various schools, Secretary Shah discovered a lack of planned functions to mark the occasion, which led to his strong reaction.

Earlier directives had been issued to all school heads to arrange appropriate Independence Day festivities.

At Haris Shaheed High School, Principal Aftab was suspended for not facilitating Independence Day celebrations.

Similarly, at Zaryab Colony Primary School, where no event had been organized despite instructions, the school’s head teacher and ten teachers were also suspended.

Additionally, as part of disciplinary measures, the suspended staff members have been instructed to relocate to distant regions within the province.

Secretary Shah emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for negligence in upholding Independence Day traditions, underlining the importance of adhering to clear-cut directives.

He directed officials across districts to promptly furnish reports on their Independence Day arrangements
