ByteDance promotes new social app Lemon8 on TikTok

According to a source, TikTok might integrate Lemon8 with TikTok to boost installs and Adoption of the social app

TikTok is working to integrate its new social app, Lemon8, product intelligence firm Watchful.ai reported. The company is apparently aiming to develop a feature that will allow users to sync their Lemon8 posts to TikTok, while adding sounds and music on the platform.

Watchful.ai uses a combination of computer vision, machine learning algorithms, and flow analysis of publicly available data to identify app changes. It was recently able to uncover TikTok features in development like AI chatbot Tako, a shop feed, video stickers and much more.

Lemon8 launched in 2020, and rose up App Store Charts earlier this year where TikTok creators promoted the app, calling it a mix of Instagram and Pinterest. The app was pushed to the top 10 overall Apps in the US App Store in March of this year. The popularity of the app came around the time US lawmakers were debating a TikTok ban in the region.

However, it seems ByteDance is leveraging TikTok to gain downloads and adoption for Lemon8 with a cross-posting feature. The app has currently 25 million estimated worldwide downloads.
