At least three people were killed and another was stabbed in separate incidents in Haripur on Friday.
According to a spokesperson the police, two of the diseased were electrocuted, while another fell victim to a fatal shooting incident. He said the fourth person was stabbed by unknown assailants.
In the first incident, a 20-year-old youth named Waqas alias Jani was electrocuted in the Aloli neighborhood within the limits of the Saddar police station.
Atiqur Rahman, 60, was electrocuted in the Bandi Seeran area while working at home in another incident, he added. The police shifted the bodies to the hospital, where they underwent medico-legal formalities before being handed over to their heirs.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old youth identified as Yasir was shot and killed by unidentified assailants. Police claimed that the deceased was fatally shot while rearing his herd. The body of the victim was taken into custody and shifted to the hospital for an autopsy as soon as the information was received by the police.
On the other hand, a young resident of Hattar Industrial Estate Labour Colony fell victim to a knife attack by unidentified attackers. Nauman, the victim, was temporarily residing in the colony. Sources said he sustained grave injuries and was swiftly rushed to the hospital. They said his condition remains critical as authorities investigate the case.
House burglars arrested
Haripur police in an operation have arrested two suspected house burglars and recovered stolen valuables and cash.
According to a spokesperson for the police, the accused were found to be in possession of savings certificates worth more than Rs4.5 million, gold jewellery worth more than Rs2.5 million, Rs80,000 worth of cash, and mobile phones.
Last week, a burglary incident occurred in a house in Mohalla Alamabad within the limits of the City police station. Based on the complainant named Alam Zeb Khan's report, a case was filed against the suspects under Section 380.34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). After learning of the incident, DPO Haripur Muhammad Umar Khan ordered DSP Headquarters Muhammad Sajjad and SHO City Police Station Chan Zeb to locate and apprehend the suspects.
He also issued orders to recover stolen gold jewellery and other items.
The spokesperson also said City police SHO Muhammad Ejaz, and other police officers used modern technological methods and arrested Muhammad Adil and Muhammad Yousuf.
They also recovered mobile phones, gold jewellery worth more than Rs2.5 million, stolen savings certificates worth more than Rs4.5 million, and cash totalling Rs80,000.
